Pulsation Dampener with PTFE / Plastomer Membrane for High Pressure
Pulsation dampeners with PTFE, DuPont Teflon, or LDi FlexFlon, Diaphragms. Basics of the "Flexorber" dampener design is to compensate for the lack of responsiveness and life of PTFE based membrane materials, by: Increase in diameter to improve the ease of response to pressure change. Concentric ripples or bonded elastomeric backing to provide resilience. Contour reversal diaphragm stroke support. Integral anti-extrusion support, spanning multi flow paths. Minimum down time capsule change-out, preserving system integrity.
FlexOrber pulsation dampeners feature: Optional secondary containment sealing, & Hazard alert porting from between multi- layer diaphragms. 10:1 safety ratio between hydro forming pressure and MAWP. Bolt and flange ring stressing in accordance with Appendices 1 & Y. Fully solution annealed housings. 20 year proven fatigue resistance life. Twelve bolt pattern, with three of twelve elongated providing mounting point with nuts. The largest volume in the business, and the largest range of sizes and pressures. The biggest connections . Split line safety band coverage.
High Pressure Pulsation Dampeners with PTFE / Plastomer Membrane
High pressure pulse dampeners using ptfe diaphragm and corrosion resistant forged billet construction, Aka "snubbers" - and "bottles" , that have: membrane from EIDupont "Teflon" or "LDi Flexflon"; which has been made homogeneous by heating to the gel temperature.
The diaphragm is re-molded to provide a contour which when fully deflected has a surface area substantially the same as the pulsation damper housing against which it will be thrust.
This prevents stretching and "cold flow" distortion of the membrane.
This separater is also provided with means to prevent its extrusion into port or ports positioned for liquid flow.
The method for preventing extrusion, is by a part aka "anti-extrusion plate" in or on the pulsation damper seperater diaphragm.
The damper Anti-extrusion plate sealably located and attached to said membrane in such a manner that flexing movement of membrane does not pull on nor disturb said sealing method.
The dampeners anti-extrusion plate also providing means to prevent membrane rupture if dampener is pressurized on the liquid side without first applying a pre-fill cushion of gas to the cushion side of the dampner.
The pressure bottles housing / vessel of the pulsation dampener is comprised of two billets complying with stress level and metal to metal contact outside a bolt circle, in accordance with asme viii appendix 1 and appendix "y".
Boltings are on a circle, spaced to provide material between bolt holes that enables the proper transfer of bending moment to be resisted by the outermost diameter of material contact.
Tension is set by calibrated torque to 70% of yield, and having sufficient elasticity plus ductility to allow parting of the body parts that will allow the safe escape of pressure.
